How to buy a licence

The Corby Engine library is sold as shareware. You can download and use a copy of the Corby chatbot, which was built using the library as its foundation, and then, if you decide that you want to use the same library in a project of your own, you can purchase a Research and Development licence to use the Corby Engine.

To buy a Research and Development licence to use the Corby Engine in your application, go to The Order page. Upon registration, you will receive by e-mail a copy of the library.

Copyright

The Research and Development licence

This type of licence allows you to use the Corby Engine in a Research and Development environment only; the copy of the library that you get cannot be included in any kind of publicly released software or used in-house out of the research and development environment.

This license is valid for one single user only and cannot be transferred or resold. Making copies of the library other than for back-up purposes is strictly prohibited.

You cannot use this licence to incorporate the Corby Engine into a product that you use outside a Research and Development environment, like participating in contests or installing it in a server that can be accessed by multiple users.

Any other kind of licence is negotiated on a case-by-case basis. To get any other kind of license you should contact us at falgosales@clix.pt.
